Tetulia(Upazila)
Tetulia in Panchagarh district, situated at the foothills of the Himalayas on the northernmost border, is like a magnificent canvas of nature.
Geographically, this upazila shares its border with the Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling districts of India.
From here, the snow-white peaks of Kanchenjunga are clearly visible, creating a magical scene on clear winter mornings.
Standing along the banks of the Mahananda River, this region is particularly known for its tea gardens.
Rows of green tea gardens on flat land and the beckoning hills in the distance have made Tetulia a dream destination for tourists.
The 'Banglabandha Zero Point' and the land port located here serve as an important bridge for trade between Bangladesh, India, Nepal, and Bhutan.
Tetulia is also quite rich in architecture and heritage; enjoying the view of the Himalayas from the British-era dak bungalow and its surrounding gardens has long been a habit for travel enthusiasts.
The Dahuk River and its surrounding rocky terrain have given the area a unique appearance.
Locally, this region is also known as the land of the 'Tea-Girl'.
Among the famous personalities of this place is the language soldier and essayist Dr.
Mazharul Islam.
In recent times, Tetulia has added a new dimension to the tourism industry; especially the influx of hundreds of tourists to see the Himalayas during winter and the growing popularity of locally produced organic tea have taken the upazila to a new height on the country's economic and tourism map.
