Aftabgonj Degree College

Aftabganj Degree College is one of the schools in Nawabganj Upazila of Dinajpur district.

The institution was established in 1986 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and philanthropists. Located in Aftabganj Bazar of Nawabganj Upazila, this college is spread over more than 3 acres of land. Since its establishment, it has been playing an important role in the expansion of higher education in the region. Recently, various initiatives have been taken by the local administration and education board for the infrastructural development of this college and the improvement of the quality of education, which is taking the institution forward on the path of modernization. In terms of academic activities, the college is currently affiliated to the National University and is conducting undergraduate (pass) courses. Higher secondary level teaching in the humanities, business education and science departments is also being conducted with great reputation. Keeping in mind the goal of building a digital Bangladesh, the teaching activities of students have been further enriched by the use of multimedia projectors in the classrooms and the use of ICT labs. Under the supervision of experienced teachers, special emphasis is given to regular classes, tutorial examinations and co-curricular activities of the students, which are playing a helpful role in the development of creative talent of the students. The names of many local intellectuals and social workers are associated with this educational institution. However, the late Aftab Uddin Ahmed, after whom this college is named, is particularly noteworthy. He was a prominent personality of the area and his contribution to the spread of education is still remembered with respect. Inspired by his ideals and visionary thinking, today this college has become the center of spreading the light of knowledge to thousands of students. The college authorities are constantly working to improve its quality with a commitment to maintaining a beautiful and orderly environment.
