The academic structure primarily offers a five-year Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery or MBBS degree program, followed by a one-year compulsory internship. Additionally, dental or BDS and nursing courses are offered here. The college is recognized by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council and affiliated with the University of Chattogram. It has its own affiliated general hospital for clinical training of the students. For conducting educational activities, it comprises essential basic and clinical departments including Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Pathology, Microbiology, Community Medicine, Medicine, Surgery, and Gynaecology. The admission process is conducted through the central admission test supervised by the Directorate General of Medical Education.
For the convenience of students, the institution features a well-equipped library, modern laboratories, a computer lab, and internet facilities. Hostel facilities are available for residential students, along with necessary arrangements for sports and extracurricular activities. As part of the admission process, students are admitted based on HSC or equivalent exam results and merit position in the central admission test. Students of this college consistently achieve good results in professional examinations.
