Chilmari Mohila Degree College

Located in Chilmari Upazila of Kurigram district, ‘Chilmari Women’s Degree College’ is a unique beacon for the promotion of women’s education. This college was established in 1994 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and social workers. This campus, spread over about 2 acres of land in the Brahmaputra River basin near Chilmari Port, is surrounded by natural beauty. The peaceful and pleasant environment of the college is very helpful for students to acquire knowledge. Currently, the college is teaching at the higher secondary and graduation (pass) levels. In line with the modern education system, multimedia classrooms and information technology-based teaching methods are followed here. Under the supervision of experienced teachers, students are being trained through regular classes, tutorial tests and practical classes. In addition, debate competitions and cultural programs are organized as co-curricular activities. The distance of this college from Kurigram district town is about 35 kilometers. It can be easily reached by road by bus or CNG. Being located on the banks of Chilmari Port and Brahmaputra River, the transportation system is quite easy. Although there is no record of any famous person of national level being directly involved in this institution, many local luminaries and educationists have worked tirelessly for the development of this college.
