About the Institute
Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) is one of the leading engineering educational institutions in Bangladesh. This institution, which started its journey as 'Chittagong Engineering College' in 1968, was transformed into 'Bangladesh Institute of Technology (BIT), Chittagong' in 1986 and became a full-fledged public university in 2003. This campus located in Raozan Upazila of Chittagong is developed in a wonderful combination of about 163 acres of hilly and plain land. The natural beauty and peaceful environment of this campus located at the foot of green hills is an ideal place for students to study.
Currently, CUET teaches various branches of engineering and technology in a modern and up-to-date manner. Higher education is provided here at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in various departments including civil, mechanical, electrical and electronic, computer science, architecture. The university's curriculum gives special emphasis on acquiring practical skills along with theoretical knowledge. In addition, the campus has state-of-the-art laboratories, rich libraries and specialized centers for research, which help students develop innovative thinking.
The distance from Kurigram district town to CUET is about 450 kilometers. Road is usually the main means of transportation from Kurigram to CUET. From Kurigram, one has to take a direct bus to Chittagong city, and from there, it is very easy to reach the CUET campus by taking a bus to Raozan. In addition, one can travel by air via Dhaka to Chittagong Airport and from there to the campus by road. Many of the alumni of CUET are making special contributions in the field of engineering and research in the country and abroad, which is constantly brightening the glory of this institution.
