About the Institute
Daffodil International University (DIU) is a leading private university established in 2002. Its large and beautiful permanent campus is located in Khagan, Ashulia, near Dhaka, and is spread over an area of about 150 bighas of land. Surrounded by greenery, this campus has modern architecture, along with a large playground, lake and aesthetic landscaping, which has created a wonderful environment for students. The main goal of the university is to develop skilled human resources through information technology and innovative education.
Currently, the university is teaching in the 'blended learning' method, where students are getting the opportunity to receive world-class education from home by combining online and offline education. It offers more than a hundred programs in various faculties including Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering and Humanities. The university has state-of-the-art labs, incubation centers and its own startup ecosystem to emphasize hands-on education. In addition, there are regular industry-academia collaborations and internships to develop the skills of students.
The distance from the main city of Kurigram to this institution is about 350 kilometers. The main means of travel from Kurigram to Dhaka is by road; one can reach Dhaka directly by bus and from there reach the Ashulia campus by the university's own transport or public transport. It is also possible to travel by air via Syedpur Airport. One of the prominent people associated with Daffodil University is its founder and chairman Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, who has been making special contributions to education and entrepreneurship in Bangladesh.
