Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University

National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam University is located in Namapara, Trishal Upazila, Mymensingh district. Established in 2006, this university is spread over about 50 acres of land near the poet's memory-rich Darirampur village. Surrounded by greenery, the architectural style of this campus is eye-catching, including the 'Agniveena' sculpture, Nazrul's portrait and beautiful administrative buildings that fascinate visitors. The peaceful environment and natural beauty of the campus have made it one of the most aesthetic higher education institutions in the country. Currently, modern and up-to-date educational programs are being conducted here in the semester system. The university offers undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in various departments under the faculties of Arts, Science, Business Administration, Social Sciences and Fine Arts. This institution is especially appreciated across the country for its music, drama and fine arts departments. The students are being developed through a combination of theoretical and practical knowledge through skilled teachers and advanced laboratories. Located about 22 kilometers from Mymensingh city, this university has a very well-developed transportation system. The campus can be easily reached by bus or private transport via the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway. The university's own transportation system has also made the transportation of students easier. It is worth noting that the first Vice-Chancellor of this university was the eminent educationist Professor Dr. M. Shamsur Rahman and currently the Honorable President is serving as its Chancellor.
