Kochakata Degree College

Located on the border of Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram district, ‘Kachakata Degree College’ is a beacon of higher education in the region. The college was established in 1994 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and social workers. This campus, spread over about 4 acres of land, is surrounded by a beautiful natural environment. Upon entering the main gate of the college, one sees neat academic buildings, a large playground and various species of trees, which ensure a calm and serene environment for the students to study. Currently, the college is conducting undergraduate (pass) level education programs in BA, BSS and BBS courses under the National University. Teaching is conducted here with a combination of multimedia classrooms and modern teaching methods under the supervision of experienced teachers. The institution is working tirelessly to develop the talent of the students through regular classes, tutorial examinations and co-curricular activities. In addition, the college’s rich library and computer lab provide special support to the students in their research-oriented studies. The distance from the Kurigram district headquarters to the college is about 45 kilometers. It can be easily reached by bus, auto-rickshaw or motorcycle from Nageshwari upazila headquarters. Due to the improved communication system, students can also travel regularly from the neighboring unions and upazilas. Although the college is not known as the birthplace of any nationally famous person in this region, many talented students at the local level have received education from here and are playing an important role in serving the country and the nation.
