About the Institute
Nageshwari Government College is a traditional educational institution located in Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram district. The college was established in 1970 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and esteemed personalities. Spread over an area of about 10 acres, this campus is located in the heart of Nageshwari municipality. Geographically, it is located in the basin of the Dudhkumar River, so it is surrounded by natural beauty. Upon entering the main gate of the college, one sees a huge playground, a well-groomed garden and academic buildings of aesthetic architecture, which create a pleasant environment for the students to study.
Currently, the college is offering higher secondary level as well as undergraduate (pass) and honors (honors) courses in various subjects under the National University. Teaching activities are conducted here through modern multimedia classrooms, a rich library and a science laboratory. Under the supervision of experienced teachers, the talent of the students is being developed through regular tutorials, examinations, seminars and co-curricular activities. With the aim of building a digital Bangladesh, the college has ensured ICT lab and internet facilities, which are helping the students to keep pace with the modern world.
The distance of this college from Kurigram district town is about 25 kilometers. It can be easily reached from the district town by bus, auto rickshaw or CNG. Due to the developed communication system, students from far and wide can also study here without any problems. Many students who have received education from this college are currently playing an important role in serving the country and the nation. The memories and contributions of many distinguished personalities, including the late AKM Maidul Islam, a prominent educationist and former member of parliament, are associated with this institution, which is a source of inspiration for the current generation of students.
