Nageshwari Kamil Madrasah

Nageshwari Kamil Madrasa is a traditional and renowned religious educational institution in Nageshwari Upazila of Kurigram district. This madrasa was established in 1952 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and religious people. Located in the heart of Nageshwari municipality, this institution is spread over about 3 acres of land. Its beautiful campus and orderly environment are very helpful for students to acquire knowledge. Since its establishment, it has been playing a unique role in combining Islamic education and modern education in this region. Currently, this madrasa offers classes from Ibtedayi to Kamil (postgraduate) levels. Teaching activities are being conducted here under the supervision of highly skilled and experienced teachers under the Islamic Arabic University. There are multimedia classrooms and a rich computer lab here to bring a touch of modern technology. In addition to the regular curriculum, students regularly participate in co-curricular activities, debate competitions and sports. The madrasa's own large library provides special support for students' research studies. The distance of this institution from the Kurigram district town is about 25 kilometers. By road, it is easy to reach Nageshwari Sadar by bus or CNG, from where it is possible to go to the madrasa by rickshaw or auto-rickshaw. Since the transportation system is quite developed, students from far and wide can travel here without any problems. Many of the former students of this institution are currently serving the country and the nation as high-ranking officials, scholars and social workers in various government and private sectors of the country. At the local level, this madrasa is not only an educational institution, but also known as an ideological and cultural center.
