Nekmard Govt College

Located in the historical place of Nekmorad in Ranishankail Upazila of Thakurgaon district, ‘Nekmorad Government College’ is working as a beacon in the expansion of education in this region.

This college was established in 1940 by the initiative of local educationists and eminent persons. This campus spread over about 6 acres of land is known for its beautiful and peaceful environment. Next to the college is the historical Nekmorad Fair premises and the ancient shrine of Shah Nekmorad, which have enriched this area historically. After a long journey, the college was nationalized, and its infrastructure and quality of education have been further consolidated. Currently, the college is teaching at the Higher Secondary (HSC) level as well as undergraduate (pass) and honors courses in various subjects under the National University. Under the supervision of experienced teachers, special emphasis is given to classroom teaching in a modern manner, regular tutorial examinations and practical classes. Thanks to Digital Bangladesh, multimedia classrooms and a rich library are providing additional facilities to the students in their studies. Besides, the activities of BNCC, Rover Scout and Red Crescent are quite active here as co-educational activities. Numerous students who studied from this educational institution are serving the country today by being employed in various important positions in the government and private sectors of the country. Although there is no big record of any nationally renowned personality working or studying in this college, many renowned teachers at the local level have made a positive impact on the lives of countless students by imparting knowledge here. All in all, Nekmrod Government College is not only an educational institution, but it is a reliable address of the dreams of the people of Ranishankail i.e. Thakurgaon district.
