Pirganj Govt. High School

'Pirganj Government High School' located in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur district is one of the oldest and traditional educational institutions in the region.

The school was established in 1932 with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and philanthropists. Located in the heart of Pirganj Upazila Sadar, this school is spread over a vast area of about 5 acres of land. After being run under private management for a long time, the school was nationalized in 1986 with the aim of improving the quality and modernization of education. Currently, it has retained its glory as one of the main educational institutions in Pirganj under government management. The school has always been working with a good reputation in terms of academic activities. Currently, co-educational programs are being implemented here from class VI to X. As part of the modern teaching method, multimedia classrooms, science facilities and a well-equipped library for students are available here. In addition to the regular curriculum, the school is quite active in organizing co-educational activities such as scouting, debate competitions, annual sports and cultural programs and science fairs. The school is working tirelessly to develop the creative talent of the students under the supervision of experienced teachers. The names of many talented people are associated with this traditional educational institution. One of the former students of this school is the prominent nuclear scientist of Bangladesh and husband of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Dr. M. A. Wazed Mia. The proximity and memory of such a distinguished personality like him always serves as a great inspiration for the students and teachers of this school.
