Shahid President Ziaur Rahman Degree College

One of the traditional educational institutions of Keraniganj Upazila of Dhaka district is 'Shaheed Rashtrapati Ziaur Rahman Degree College'.

The college was established in 1994 in the Shubhadhya area of Keraniganj with the dedicated efforts of local educationists and locals. Located in a noise-free and pleasant environment on the banks of the Buriganga River, this college is spread over about a few acres of land. Its vast campus and orderly environment are known as an ideal place for students to study. Currently, the college offers higher secondary, undergraduate (pass) and honors courses in various subjects under the National University. Under the supervision of experienced teachers, special emphasis is given to regular classes, tutorial examinations and practical classes. To promote information technology-based education, there are multimedia classrooms and a rich library, which help students acquire knowledge. In addition, the students of the college regularly participate in debate competitions, sports and cultural activities as co-curricular activities. The college has been playing an important role in ensuring higher education for the common people of the area. Many students who have passed out from the institution are currently working in various important government and private offices of the country. Although the name of any nationally known personality from this college is not widely publicized, the steps of its alumni in social service, politics and professional life at the local level are quite significant. This college has been working as a beacon in the expansion of education in Keraniganj for three long decades.
