About the Institute
Sonahat Bi-directional High School is a traditional educational institution in Bhurungamari Upazila of Kurigram district. Established in 1952, this school is located near the Sonahat land port adjacent to the India-Bangladesh border. Established on about 3 acres of land, this school has been playing an important role in spreading the light of education in this region in its long journey. The historic Sonahat railway bridge and border area are located next to the school, which has increased its geographical importance and beauty many times over.
Currently, the school is conducting teaching activities in a modern and creative manner. Under the supervision of skilled and experienced teachers, regular teaching from class VI to X, use of multimedia classrooms and co-curricular activities are given special importance. In terms of academic results, the school has been achieving enviable success at the upazila and district levels every year. Regular debate competitions, sports and cultural programs are organized here to develop the talent of the students.
The distance of the school from Kurigram district headquarters is about 45 kilometers. It is easily accessible by road from Kurigram to Bhurungamari.
