University of Barishal

Barisal University was established in 2011 as one of the major centers of higher education in South Bengal. This campus is located on about 50 acres of land on the banks of the Kirtankhola River in the Karnakathi area of Barisal city. The architecture of this university, built in a beautiful natural environment and the peaceful environment adjacent to the river, has created a unique learning environment for students. The Central Shaheed Minar, Bangabandhu Mural and the beautiful administrative building inside the campus are some of the attractions here. Currently, the university is teaching in various departments under six faculties in a modern and up-to-date manner. This educational program conducted through the semester system has multimedia classrooms, rich libraries and research laboratories. Under the supervision of skilled teachers, special emphasis is given to practical and research-based education along with theoretical education, which is preparing students for the competitive workplace. The distance of the university from the main city of Barisal is about 8-10 kilometers. The campus can be easily reached from the city's Nathullabad or Rupatli bus terminals by bus, auto-rickshaw or own transport. Being on the banks of the Kirtankhola River, the route is also quite pleasant. Although it is a new university, its students have been leaving their mark in various competitions at the national and international levels. Many of its alumni are currently serving in important positions in various government and private sectors of the country, enhancing the reputation of the university.
