Borodargah Union(Union)

Baradargah Union is a prosperous region in Pirganj Upazila of Rangpur district.

It is primarily an important commercial hub located along the Rangpur-Dhaka highway.

In terms of geographical location, it is one of the busiest areas of the Upazila, where extensive commercial activities have flourished alongside an agriculture-based economy.

The Karatoya River and its tributaries flow through the heart of this union, making its land fertile.

The weather and climate here are generally mild and temperate, much like other parts of the Rangpur region.

The most well-known and universal landmark of Baradargah is its historic 'Baradargah Jame Mosque' and the vast surrounding area, from which the union is said to have derived its name, according to local folklore.

Additionally, the Baradargah Hat or market area is known as the lifeline of the local economy.

Among the notable figures from this region is the prominent Bangladeshi politician and Speaker of the National Parliament, Dr.

Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, whose constituency is Pirganj and who has been playing a significant role in the overall development of Baradargah.

Currently, due to road connectivity and infrastructural development, the area is continuously evolving as a modern and promising union of Pirganj.
