Since Chambal Union is located in the coastal region near the Bay of Bengal, marine fishing and salt production play a special role in its economy. Canals and water streams adjacent to Jaldia and Chambal flow through this area, which are used for local irrigation and communication systems.
Like other areas of Banshkhali Upazila, Chambal Union has rural markets and haats that serve as centers for local trade and commerce. Traditionally, road transport is the main medium of travel for the people here, connecting with Chattogram city via the main Banshkhali road.
