Chittagong City Corporation is a local government institution located in the major port city of Chittagong in southeastern Bangladesh.
It is widely known as the country's second-largest and extremely important commercial metropolis.

Among the major commercial centers and busy areas of this metropolis are Khatunganj, Asadganj, Chaktai, Riazuddin Bazar, Agrabad Commercial Area, and GEC Circle. As the primary hub for international trade, it houses the Port of Chittagong and Patenga Container Terminal.
The area is flanked by the Karnaphuli River, with the Halda River flowing towards its northern side. There are coastal features and estuarine areas near the mouth of the Karnaphuli River, including Patenga.
Historical and landmark structures include the Circuit House, Chittagong Railway Station, Tiger Pass, DC Hill, Laldighi Maidan, Shah Amanat Mazar, Baitush Sharaf Complex, and Kalurghat Bridge. Notable landmarks of the Liberation War include the Kalurghat Radio Station, where the Declaration of Independence was broadcast, and martyr memorials.
Well-known educational institutions located here include Chittagong University (with city offices and associated operations), Chittagong Medical College, Chittagong College, Government Haji Mohammad Mohsin College, and Ispahani Public School and College. Notable healthcare facilities include Chittagong Medical College Hospital, Chittagong General Hospital, and Chevron Clinical Laboratory.
This city is accessible by road, rail, and air. It has direct connectivity with the rest of the country via the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway for road travel and serves as the eastern headquarters of Bangladesh Railway. Additionally, Shah Amanat International Airport is the primary gateway for air travel.
Renowned historical and prominent personalities born or associated with this region include Masterda Surya Sen, Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman, and novelist Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay.
