Flowing along the northern and western borders of Dhalghat Union is the Karnaphuli River, which plays a significant role in the communication and economy of this region. This riverbank locality features fertile alluvial soil and diverse natural characteristics.
Dhalghat Union holds a glorious role in the anti-British independence movement. On 13 June 1932, the historic Dhalghat armed clash with British soldiers took place on this soil under the leadership of revolutionary Masterda Surya Sen, with brave revolutionaries like Pritilata Waddedar participating. This site, imbued with the memories of the anti-British movement, is specially marked in the pages of history.
Several old and well-known educational institutions, such as Dhalghat Multilateral High School and Dhalghat Government Primary School, are working to spread education in this union.
Dhalghat Union can be easily accessed by road from Patiya Upazila headquarters. Additionally, traveling from Chattogram city and neighboring areas is facilitated by road and water transport across the Kalurghat Bridge.
