Gandamara Union is located close to the coast of the Bay of Bengal and is a densely populated area. Various canals and water bodies of the coastal region flow past this union, playing an important role in local fish farming and agricultural activities. In recent times, with the establishment of major industrial projects here, the area has become extremely busy commercially and economically.
For the spread of education, there are several primary and secondary schools in this area. Among them, Gandamara High School is one of the main educational institutions. Besides, several Qawmi and Alia madrasas are operating for religious education.
Gandamara Union can be easily accessed by road using buses, CNG autorickshaws, or rickshaws from the Banshkhali Upazila headquarters. It is possible to reach this union by road from the Chattogram district headquarters via Banshkhali.
