Gharialdanga Union(Union)
Gharialdanga Union is an important administrative region of Rajarhat Upazila in Kurigram district.
Located in the basin of the Teesta River, this union is geographically composed of flat land rich in alluvial soil and prone to river erosion.
It is approximately 15-18 kilometers away from the main town of Kurigram, and can be easily reached by road via CNG or autorickshaw.
Locally, this area is often known as a settlement centered around 'Gharialdanga Bazar'.
Notable structures in this union include various ancient mosques and educational institutions.
The main livelihood of the people here is agriculture, and the area is particularly well-known for the cultivation of rice and vegetables.
Being situated on the banks of the Teesta River, the natural scenery becomes quite picturesque during the monsoon season, which is a sight to behold for the locals.
Although no nationally famous person was born in this region, it is known for its traditional rural culture and simple lifestyle.
Currently, due to the development of modern communication systems, the union is closely connected to the Rajarhat Upazila headquarters.
