Karnaphuli Tunnel is a new milestone in Bangladesh's communication system. This mega project was undertaken with the aim of developing the two banks of the river under the 'One City Two Towns' model, similar to Shanghai, China. It has facilitated easier communication between Dhaka and Cox's Bazar while expediting the transport of containers and goods for the Chattogram Port.
Traveling through this tunnel offers the unique experience of passing through a magnificent underground passageway beneath the river. At both ends lie the Karnaphuli River and various modern infrastructures of the Patiya and Anwara areas.
Communication: One can easily enter the tunnel by vehicle from Chattogram city via Patenga and cross the Karnaphuli River to reach Anwara upazila.
