Khejurer Tol(Area under municipality)

'Khejur-er Tol' in Kurigram Sadar Upazila is a well-known locality, situated primarily in the basin of the Dharla River.

Geographically, as it is a riverine area rich in alluvial soil, the agricultural system here is quite advanced.

Although there are no major historical monuments in this area, it is known as an important hub for local transportation and daily shopping.

Recently, the area came into the spotlight due to a tragic road accident that occurred on May 20, 2024.

Around 10:00 AM that day, a head-on collision between a speeding truck and an autorickshaw in the Khejur-er Tol area left local resident Md.

Rahim Mia (45) dead on the spot and three others critically injured.

This incident cast a shadow of deep grief over the locals and raised concerns among the public regarding road safety.

Currently, the area is primarily known as a rural settlement, where the local markets and the natural scenery along the banks of the Dharla River offer some tranquility to visitors.
