Narayanpur Union(Union)
Narayanpur Union is an important administrative region of Nageshwari Upazila in Kurigram district.
Situated in the basin of the Brahmaputra River, it is geographically a river-surrounded area rich in alluvial soil.
It is located approximately 25-30 kilometers from Kurigram district town, and travel requires a combination of road and waterways.
Locally, this union is often known as 'Narayanpur Char' because a vast portion of it consists of riverine islands (chars).
Although there are no significant historical monuments in the area, rural settlements and a river-centric lifestyle are its main characteristics.
Agriculture is the primary driving force of the local economy.
While river erosion is a regular occurrence or challenge during the monsoon season, the people here are extremely resilient.
For transportation, auto-rickshaws and boats are the main modes of reliance.
Although no nationally famous figures were born in this union, the simple lifestyle of the common people and their agriculture-based culture define the identity of this region.
