Nekmard Bazar(Market)

Nekmarad Bazar is one of the major commercial hubs in the Ranisankail Upazila of Thakurgaon district.

It is located approximately 10 kilometers northeast of the Ranisankail Upazila headquarters.

Geographically, it extends near the basin of the Kulik River.

On specific days each week, one of the largest cattle markets in North Bengal is held here, which plays a vital role in the local economy.

Furthermore, the Nekmarad area is known for its ancient heritage, centered around the historic 'Nekmarad Mazar Sharif'.

Every year in the month of Falgun, a massive fair is held here, which turns into a gathering place for the people of the region.

Historically, the place was also known as 'Mirdangi'.

It is now more commonly known as Nekmarad, named after the spiritual saint Pir Shah Nekmarad of this region.

Notable structures here include the shrine of Pir Shah Nekmarad and the adjacent ancient mosque, which are highly attractive to visitors due to their architectural style and religious significance.
