Rangunia is an upazila under Chattogram District in Bangladesh, located about 30 kilometers east of the Chattogram district headquarters.
This upazila is situated on the banks of the Karnaphuli River and is known for its rich agricultural production and as the birthplace of historic personalities.

Flowing along the northern and eastern borders of Rangunia upazila is the Karnaphuli River, which plays a vital role in the region's communication and economy. Additionally, the Shilak River is a notable water body in this upazila. The terrain, a mix of hills and plains, features several tea gardens and scenic areas.
This region hosts several traditional and important sites. Masterda Surya Sen, a prominent revolutionary of the anti-British movement, was born in this upazila. The historical significance of Pomra Bura Mosque is also notable here. Parts of the Kaptai project and various scenic spots have developed around the banks of the Karnaphuli River in Rangunia.
For education, Rangunia has Rangunia Government College, Gochra Shahid Buddhijibi Degree College, Chandraghona Kodomtoli Haji Muhammad Mohsin High School, and Rangunia Adarsha Bahumukhi High School. For healthcare, there is an Upazila Health Complex and Chandraghona Christian Hospital.
Rangunia is easily accessible from Chattogram city by road via the Kaptai road using buses or CNG-run autorickshaws. Water transport via the Karnaphuli River is also available.
