Saitara Union(Union)

Saitara Union is one of the administrative regions of Chirirbandar Upazila in Dinajpur district.

Geographically, it is located in the basin of the Atrai River, making its land extremely fertile and agriculture-oriented.

The presence of small and large canals and wetlands flowing through the union makes the region unique in its natural beauty.

The main livelihood of the people here is the cultivation of rice, wheat, and maize.

According to local legend, in ancient times, many star-like bright flowers used to bloom in this region, from which the name 'Saitara' is believed to have originated over time.

Although there are no massive tourist structures in Saitara Union, the touch of rural heritage can be felt in its calm and serene environment.

The ancient mosques and temples scattered across various parts of the union bear witness to local architectural styles.

Additionally, the areas along the banks of the Atrai River are quite popular for spending afternoons.

Among the notable figures of this union is the language soldier and liberation war organizer M.

Abdur Rahim (who was an integral part of the politics of the greater Dinajpur region and played a significant role in its development).
