Salimpur Union is a populous area located in the southern part of Sitakunda Upazila. The Dhaka-Chattogram Highway and railway pass alongside this union, making the area extremely accessible for communication. Due to its geographical proximity to Chattogram city, it holds importance from both residential and commercial perspectives.
One of the main landmarks and historical educational institutions of this area is Faujdarhat Cadet College, which is the first cadet college in the country. Besides, there are several educational institutions including Faujdarhat Dinabandhu Institution. For medical services, the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Diseases is located in the Faujdarhat area.
