Shahaber Alga(Union)
'Saheber Alga' is one of the unions of Ulipur Upazila in Kurigram district.
This union, which emerged in the heart of the Brahmaputra River, is geographically known as an isolated island or a char area.
Being detached from the mainland, the communication system here is primarily dependent on boats, and it is located about 20-25 kilometers away from Kurigram town.
While travel becomes somewhat difficult during the monsoon season, walking paths are the main reliance during the dry season.
This union has no alternative or local name, but it is widely known as a char-based settlement.
The livelihood of the people here is mainly dependent on agriculture and fishing.
Although there are no significant large structures or tourist attractions in the area, the vast waters of the Brahmaputra and the natural beauty of the char are appealing to travelers.
So far, there is no information about any nationally famous person being born or permanently residing in this union.
Saheber Alga is primarily known as a settlement of people who survive by struggling against river erosion and the adversities of the char.
