Tilai Union(Union)
Tilai Union is an important administrative area in the Bhurungamari Upazila of Kurigram district.
Geographically, it is situated in the basin of the Dudhkumar River, which makes its land extremely fertile and agriculture-oriented.
The union is also locally known as Tilai or Tilaihat.
It is approximately 45-50 kilometers away from the Kurigram district headquarters, and road transport is the primary means of communication; it can be reached via Bhurungamari Upazila headquarters by bus or CNG.
Although there are no major tourist attractions in this union, the peaceful environment of the rural landscape and the riverine scenery captivate visitors.
The Tilaihat area is known as the hub of local business.
Additionally, there are various government primary and secondary schools in the region that serve as centers for local education.
Due to its geographical location, the area often makes news headlines during the monsoon season when the water level of the Dudhkumar River rises.
While no nationally famous figures are widely known from this locality, the common people here continue to make outstanding contributions to agriculture and fish farming.
