DC Hill Park is a historic hill situated in the heart of Chattogram. Due to its proximity to the former Deputy Commissioner's office since the British period, it has played an important role administratively and culturally. Later, it was developed as a park for public recreation. Every day, hundreds of people visit the place to find peace and greenery away from the hustle and bustle of Chattogram city. Various cultural events, including the traditional Pohela Boishakh celebration during the Bengali New Year, are held at the foothills, making it a prominent center of Bengali culture.
There are excellent walkways for strolling around the park. Climbing to the top of the hill offers a beautiful view of parts of Chattogram city. It features various species of ancient trees and several benches to sit on. Adjacent to the park are the Chattogram court premises, the historic Kadam Mubarak Shah Mazar, and Prabortak Mor. Furthermore, traditional educational institutions such as Chattogram College and Government Muslim High School are located nearby.
DC Hill Park can be easily reached from any part of Chattogram city by rickshaw, CNG-driven auto-rickshaw, or bus. It is easily accessible within a short time from New Market or GEC Circle.
